为回国用钱，我给银行打电话的经历

因要回国用钱，又不想带很多现金，之前得到很多有益的信息。
觉得应分享我的经验，希望对其他人有所回馈，希望对大家有帮助。

May ２４日深夜，按照BOA ATM 卡背面的８００号打过去，被告知office closed. 作
罢。

按照Citi ATM卡背面的８００号打过去。阿印接听。验明正身后，我说我要有国际
旅行，需作美国外的ATM withdrawl，想让他们make a notice on my account.她说你
是不是要transfer money to an outside account.我ft，只好repeat.这此她又告送我
you can use ATM card to make purchase outside US.我大ft。Repeat again.（
Same sentence, the third time.）。她这次好像明白了。说”Could you wait, let
me find out what we should do”，５分钟音乐。然后说，“We need to transfer
you to another department.”“OK”。１０分钟音乐后。我的电话短了。I gave up
then.

昨晚没有call Discover.

今天一早。

Call BOA first.一老黑接听。验明正身后，我说我要有国际旅行，需作美国外的ATM
withdrawl，想让他们make a notice on my account.（Same statement I made to
Citi yesterday）。他问了我何时走何时会，去那个国家，然后说，“I will make a
notice on your account。 When you in China, you can make free money
withdrawl from China Construction Bank ATMs. They are affiliated with Bank
of America”我问他如建行取钱有问题，要打哪个电话？他说了一个 US toll free:
１－877－833－5617.整个过程少于１５分钟。smooth and easy.

再战Citi。Another 阿印。给了与昨晚同样的第二个答案“you can use ATM card to
make purchase outside US”。我重复了我的要求。被告知要转到另一个部门(Of
course you would,I just knew it.Hehe)。吸取昨晚的教训，我说”Execuse me,
before the transfer,could you please tell me the number of the department
which handles the international ATM withdrawls? Just in case this call gets
dropped incidentally.”"Sure could you hold.” １０分钟音乐后“1-800-647-0065
”“I will transfer you to Lisa who can help you from there.”

Lisa , an American lady, 验明我的正身后，询问了时间和地点，告送我她已经make
a note on my account.我问她有无ATM fee or surcharge.”There is no ATM fee if
you withdraw money from Citi ATM. There is a 3 percent foreign exchange fee.
..”"So, if I make a $100 withdrawl from Citi ATM in China, I will only be
getting $97 worth of money, is that correct”? Lisa said,”Yes.” 我问她如中国
取钱有问题，要打哪个电话？她给了我一个collect call number 001-210-677-0065.”
Yes, we do accept collect call.”, Lisa said. 她也问我有无在中国可找到我的电
话并主动问我要不要有Citi ATM的中国城市列表。”We are pretty much everywhere
in the world”, proud Lisa said… 与Citi的通话大约半小时包括与阿印的通话。

最后Call Discover credit card。验明我的正身后，询问了时间和地点。然后说”
There is no transaction surcharge for using Discover outside of US. But
Discover is not accepted everywhere.” 共用时间 １０ 分钟。

总的感觉BOA 4.5 stars, I would have given 5 stars if I can call in 24×7;
CITI 4 stars. CSR needs more education to provide accurate information and
waiting time may be shortened.
